Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know which features are equipped in my front-facing camera?

There are two ways to find out which features are equipped in your front-facing camera. You can contact your local dealership and provide them with your vehicle's VIN. They should be able to identify the features for you. Alternatively, you can also email or text us your VIN number or bring your car to our shop. We will be happy to check and identify the safety features for you.

Would you be able to recalibrate the camera after you replace my windshield?

Yes, we can recalibrate the camera after you replace your windshield. This is a necessary step to ensure that the camera is working properly and that the safety features are still functioning.

How long does it take for recalibration?

The amount of time it takes to recalibrate the camera depends on the make and model of your vehicle. In most cases, it takes about 2-3 hours.

What is the typical price of recalibration?

The price of recalibration varies depending on the make and model of your vehicle. Our rates are highly competitive with dealerships.

Will my insurance cover the recalibration cost?

Yes, it is federally mandated. If you have full coverage on your vehicle, your insurance will cover the cost of recalibration.

What if my windshield camera does not pass calibration after replacement with aftermarket glass?

If your windshield camera does not pass the calibration, it means that the camera is not properly aligned with the windshield. This can happen for several reasons, including defective glass or trouble codes in your vehicle's system. You will need to have it upgraded to OEM glass and pay the price difference.

Your insurance company will typically cover the cost of the OEM glass if the calibration does not pass when using aftermarket glass. Your insurance company does not want to be liable if the camera does not work properly.

The process of upgrading to OEM glass is relatively simple. The old windshield will be removed, and the new windshield will be installed. The camera will then be recalibrated by our technician or by the dealerships if necessary.
